developmentsavailability,thescaleoftheoperationhasbeenreducedbymore
thantwo-fold.
TeDesertStormOperationwasconductedinaccordancewiththePowell
Doctrineofthetime26inJanuaryandFebruary1991,withapproximately
737,000soldiersparticipating.TwocorpsliberatedKuwaitinthecourseofthe
landońensivelastingapproximately100hours.Ontheotherhand,asaresultof
IraqiFreedomOperation(2003),conductedinaccordancewiththeRumsfeld
doctrine27withtheparticipationofabout300,000soldiers,controlofmostof
Iraq’sterritorywasgainedaferapproximatelythreeweeks’operation.
