of-course-tests,objectiveperformance-basedassessments,studentlearning
objectives,studentperformanceonEnglishlanguageproficiencyassessments,
andothermeasuresofstudentachievement,thatarerigorousandcomparable
acrossschoolsandconsistentwithStaterequirements.Ingeneral,theassess-
mentofstudents’growthwillbebasedonumultiplevalidmeasures”aswell
asobservationsbasedonrigorousteacherperformancestandardsandother
measuresofprofessionalpractice.
2.EmploymentOutcomes

teacherretention.Tehigh-needschoolsmeansthatthepercentageofstu-
dentsaged5through17liveinpovertyandareeligibleforafreeorreduced-
priceschoollunch.
Teteacherretentionmeansthatthenewteacherandgraduatewhohave
beenhiredinfull-timeteachingpositionsandhavereachedaleveloftenure
orotherequivalentmeasureofretentionwithinfiveyearsofbeinggranted
certification.
