understandstheirtargetdomains.TheconceptofIndrastillremainedasthe
sourcedomainfortheconceptualisationofradicalchangeofconsciousness.76
TheearlySmṛtiphilosophersevoketheseRgvedicmodelsrarelythoughin
somecontextstheyplayasignificantroleinconstructionofmeaning.

notnecessarilyexpressedinwords,butasmotivatingthethinkingofthe

comesfromtheRVismostlyusedtoconceivecreation.TheRgvedicgeneral
domainofCleansingbyHeat(initsspecificrealisationsofChurningButter
andtheRefiningofGold/Iron)isusedtoconceivecreationandtransformation
ofmenduringliberatingpractices.ThegeneraldomainofCookingwhich
begantobeusedintheBrāhmanasismostlyusedtoexpresstheinfluence
oftimeandliberatingcognition;inBhG11itactivatesitsVedicmeaning
basedontheconceptualisationofrealityasfiery.
Finally,thegeneraldomainofJourney(withitsspecificrealisationas
RidingInAChariot)isusedtoconceivetheinfluenceoftimeandliberating
cognition.ThisdomainisanelaboratedversionoftheSOURCE-PATH-GOAL
imageschemawhich,asstatedearlier,isusedasthesourcedomainfor
plannedactivities.78Sincefreedomisunderstoodintermsoffreemovement
(Lakoff2006),thisconceptbecameasourcedomainforanyactivitywhich
liberatingpowerofmen.IntheKenaUpanisad4.3,Indraisdescribedas4somehow’surpassing
theothergods,4forhebothcameintoclosecontactwithitandwasthefirsttorecogniseit
