Asatextbookwhichismeantasateachertrainingtool,TeachingandLearning

ingorientedatsupportingthereﬂectivityofthestudents.Itaspirestoencourage

students’criticalself-reﬂectionconcerningtheirownprofessionalandacademic

development.Withthehelpofthesuitablydesignedactivitieswhichaccompany

thetextbook’sreasoninginitsexpositorycharacter,weattempttoreleasestudents

fromthedogmaticthinkingwhichformsasigniﬁcantobstaclebothtointroducing

novelsolutionsintotheteachingprocessandfromtheinformedplanningofthe

professionaldevelopmentandcareeroffutureteachers.

Initsconceptualdimension,thesubjectmatterpresentedinourvolumeisrelated

tothecontemporaryCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferenceforLanguages

(CEFR2011,CEFR-CV2018)andtheconstructivist-orientedactivityapproachto

thelearningandteachingofforeignlanguageswhichitpromotes.Tetheoretical,

curriculum-relatedandmethodologicalreﬂectionscontainedinthisbook,aswell

astheactivitieswhichintegratethemintothepracticeofteaching,drawdirectlyon

thisapproach.

Inthecontextofteachingphilosophy,werepresentthetrendofhumanisticpedagogy

assumesteachersandlearnerswillshaperelationshipswhichwillrelyontheirstrong

points,theirbeliefintheirowncapabilities,andtheirreadinesstoundertakeaction

andassumeautonomousresponsibilityfortheirdevelopmentandwell-being.Bythe

sametoken,theprocessoflearningandteachingalanguageacquiresapsycho-social

orientationwithinwhichthelinguisticabilitiesdevelopedaresupplementedby

awholesetofothersofskills,whichareusefulineverydaylifeandcommunication

withotherswhilesupportinglifelong,conscious,personal,socialandcultural

development(educationforlife).Teteachingstrategieswhichfostersuchan

educationalprocessturnitintoaspeciﬁcactofartisticcreationduetoitsunique

andsingularcharacter.Teteacherswhoarepreparedtodiscoverandintroducethis

intheirdailyworkarepeoplewhoareawareoftheirprofessionalcompetencesand

thevalueoftheirpersonalities.
