Thepulsewillbefeltbetterifthepressureoncarotidorradialartery
issubtler,andthemusclesareasrelaxedaspossible.Themeasurement
involvescountingthepulsebeatswithinaminute.Weusuallyshortenitto
10,15or30seconds,butthentheresulthastobemultipliedrespectively
by6,4and2,sothatthepulsewasstillexpressedbybeatsperminute.
Thepulsemeasurementwillbemadeeasierifpulsimetersareapplied.
Earliersuchapplianceswereexclusivelyincludedinexpensivemeasuring
apparatusesoradvancedtrainingsystems.Withtheadvancementof
electronicspulsimeterswerelockedinenvelopesofelectronicwatchesand
theybecamemuchcheaper.
