Moderncorporatearchitecture(CA)isnowadaysdesignedandconstructedon
thebasisofmodernbusinessmodels(BM)(Figure1.1).
Wecandefinecorporatearchitectureasanorganizationwhicharisesfrom
theemptyspaceofpotentialdecisions,activities,processes,workflows,etc.In
thismeaningwecanonlyobservedifferentsymptomsandmanifestationsofthe
organizationinaveryshorttime.Organizations,likeotherformsinthe
universeareveryshort-livedentities,whichtransformtheirstructureand
contentallthetime.
Anyattempttodefineanddescribethefunctioningofanorganizationis
alwaysmadeindelayedtime.
InFigure1.1wecanseesomekindofconflictbetweenbusinessmodels
(BM)inthepast(oldBM),present(actualBM)andfuture(newBM).Through
BMwecandefine,detail,designandexploittheessence,contentandfunctioning
ofanorganization,whichwecancallcorporatearchitectureinshort.
Inrealityamodern,transnationalcorporationisan“empty”entity;this
meansthattheirinternalinfrastructureisverycomplicatedandbasedon
anetworkingparadigm.Thenumberofinternalentities(divisions,departments,
posts,etc.)isstillgrowing,whichcausesthefollowingproblems:

lossofcontrol,
incompatibilityofprocesses,
•
invisibleconnectionsbetweenorganizationalentities,
•
morecomplicatedlearningprocesses,
•
impactoftheintegratorcompany(IC)isslowlyfalling.
