ChapterSix,finally,aimsatdescribingtherealityofInternet-basedlanguage
instructioninablendedlearningcontext,coveringindetailsuchissuesasnecessary
learnerandteacherskills,intheareaoflanguageskills,computerskillsandWebskills.
AnimportantpartofthechapterisaproposalofICTpre-serviceteachertrainingfor
acontemporarymodernphilologycurriculum.OrganisingaWeb-basedclassroom
requiresampleconsiderationoftechnologicalrequirements,andspecificallylabaccess,
layoutandorganisation,theInternetconnection,softwareandhardware.Thelast
sectionofthechapterdiscussesvariousissuesconcerningmanagingWeb-basedface-
to-facelessons,bothfromtechnical(waysofaddingaWebpresencetothecourse)as
wellasdidacticpointofview(teacherroles,disciplinemanagementandclassroom
organisation).Thehighlypracticalnatureofthechapterwillhopefullymakeitasaset
ofguidelinesforteachersinterestedinimplementingInternet-basedinstruction.
Withgreattechnologicalprogressthelanguageteachermaysoonfaceanewsetof
toolsandservicesthatwillcreateandsustainlearners'motivation,justastheInternet
usedtodosometimeago.Ontheotherhand,theWebwillsurelybecomeastandard
featureoftheclassroom,justasithasalreadybecomeanessentialelementofmany
people'slives,andassuchshouldbesystematicallyexploredtofacilitatethelanguage
learningprocess.Itishopedthatthepresentworkwillhighlightmajorissuesconnected
withWeb-basedclassroomteaching,providingteacherswiththeknowledgeofprocesses
andinstrumentsnecessarytodesignandimplementInternet-mediatedinstruction.
