Tegenuinevalueofhealthmightbeclearlyshownwhenwedonotaskabout
itdirectly.Forexample,theparticipantsofthePublicOpinionResearchCentre
surveywereaskedwhathasastrongerinfluenceonreachingthesuccess:good
look(haircut,make-upandclothing)orslimgureandmuscularbody.About
45%ofrespondentsclaimthatthegoodlookismoreefficientthanthehealthof
thebody(29%ofthemthinkthatbody-lookismoreimportant).Itissignificant
thatrespondentschoosefactorsbasedonnon-healthyactivities,whichdonot
forcetoconstraintsandmanyself-denials.Tosendingsleadustothestate-
mentthatmodernsocietyanditsrepresentativesparadoxicallydonotreward
individualswhotakecareoftheirhealth.Inthiscontextwecouldsaythatother
lifevaluesandrolesaremoreimportantthanhealth.Ifanindividualwouldlive
inamorebalancedmanner(livehealthier,workless,sleepmoreetc.)heorshe
wouldbeprofessionallyandsociallypushedto‘normal’lifeand‘normal’social
roles.
