aliberalartabouthumanbeings,butforhumanbeings.misconceptdevelopedat
thePalackéhouniversityinOlomoucundertheleadershipofdocentJochmann,
prominentCzechandragogueofthe90softhelastcentury.
mefact,thatandragogyisbroadlyconcernedwithindividualandsocialcon-
nectionsofculture,economyandpolitics,andtheneedtodińerentiatethisbroad
interpretationfromthemorenarrowconceptofandragogyasthetheoryofadult
education,leadstowardstheuseofthetermIntegralandragogy.
Maybe,itwouldbemoresuitabletousethetermIntegrative,because:
andragogyintegratestheviewpointofseveralscientificdisciplinesonthe
possibilitiesandproblemsofassertingoneselfinallareasofsociallife(incultural,
economic,andpoliticalconext);
andragogyintegratesallstagesindividualcareer;
andragogyintegratesexaminationsofprocessesandphenomena,whichin-
fluencehumansintheenvironmentofpermanentsocialchanges.
meuniversalformulationcouldbetheschemeofintegralandragogyasan
appliedscienceaboutthemobilizationofhumanresourcesintheenvironmentof
permanentsocialchanges.Humanresourcesanalogicallytoeconomicresources,
couldbeseenasaparticularlevelofqualityofmembersofagivensociety.mis
qualityisdefinedbytwomaincomponents:

culturalcapital(inotherwordstheculturallevelandtheabilitytousein-
formationacquirednotonlybyeducation,butalsobytheinfluenceofthefamily
environment,and

socialcapital(thenetworksofsocialcontacts,links,relationships,etc.).

Bourdieu,whodefineditasatoolfortakingoversymbolicwealth,whichisconsid-
eredbythesocietytobeappropriatetosearchforandposses.

capital-constituteanimportantcomponentofthegrowthpotentialofthegiven
society.
Intheenvironmentofpermanentchanges,whichistypicalforthesocietyon
theborderbetweenindustrialismandpost-industrialism,humancapital(human
potential)representsthemostimportant,butalsomostsensitiveandvulnerable
determinantoftheexistenceanddevelopmentofanysociety.Forthatreason,we
needtodedicatecertaincaretoit.Socialeducationprovidesuswiththetheoreti-
calbaseforunderstandingtherelationshipbetweenhumancapitalandchanging
