eatinganddrinking,marryingandgivinginmarriage,untilthedaythatNoahenteredintotheship,24.39andtheydidn’tknowuntiltheflood
came,andtookthemallaway,sowillbethecomingoftheSonofMan.24.40Thentwomenwillbeinthefield:onewillbetakenandone
willbeleft;24.41twowomengrindingatthemill,onewillbetakenandonewillbeleft.24.42Watchtherefore,foryoudon’tknowinwhathour
yourLordcomes.24.43Butknowthis,thatifthemasterofthehousehadknowninwhatwatchofthenightthethiefwascoming,hewould
havewatched,andwouldnothaveallowedhishousetobebrokeninto.24.44Thereforealsobeready,forinanhourthatyoudon’texpect,
theSonofManwillcome.
24.45“Whothenisthefaithfulandwiseservant,whomhislordhassetoverhishousehold,togivethemtheirfoodindueseason?24.46
Blessedisthatservantwhomhislordfindsdoingsowhenhecomes.24.47MostcertainlyItellyouthathewillsethimoverallthathehas.
24.48Butifthatevilservantshouldsayinhisheart,‘Mylordisdelayinghiscoming,’24.49andbeginstobeathisfellowservants,andeatand
drinkwiththedrunkards,24.50thelordofthatservantwillcomeinadaywhenhedoesn’texpectit,andinanhourwhenhedoesn’tknowit,
24.51andwillcuthiminpieces,andappointhisportionwiththehypocrites.Thereiswheretheweepingandgrindingofteethwillbe.

25.1“ThentheKingdomofHeavenwillbeliketenvirgins,whotooktheirlamps,andwentouttomeetthebridegroom.25.2Fiveofthem
werefoolish,andfivewerewise.25.3Thosewhowerefoolish,whentheytooktheirlamps,tooknooilwiththem,25.4butthewisetookoil
intheirvesselswiththeirlamps.25.5Nowwhilethebridegroomdelayed,theyallslumberedandslept.25.6Butatmidnighttherewasacry,
‘Behold!Thebridegroomiscoming!Comeouttomeethim!’25.7Thenallthosevirginsarose,andtrimmedtheirlamps[*].25.8Thefoolishsaid
tothewise,‘Giveussomeofyouroil,forourlampsaregoingout.’25.9Butthewiseanswered,saying,‘Whatifthereisn’tenoughfor
usandyou?Yougorathertothosewhosell,andbuyforyourselves.’25.10Whiletheywentawaytobuy,thebridegroomcame,andthose
whowerereadywentinwithhimtothemarriagefeast,andthedoorwasshut.25.11Afterwardtheothervirginsalsocame,saying,‘Lord,
Lord,opentous.’25.12Butheanswered,‘MostcertainlyItellyou,Idon’tknowyou.’25.13Watchtherefore,foryoudon’tknowthedaynor
thehourinwhichtheSonofManiscoming.
25.14“Foritislikeaman,goingintoanothercountry,whocalledhisownservants,andentrustedhisgoodstothem.25.15Toonehegavefive
talents[*],toanothertwo,toanotherone;toeachaccordingtohisownability.Thenhewentonhisjourney.25.16Immediatelyhewho
receivedthefivetalentswentandtradedwiththem,andmadeanotherfivetalents.25.17Inthesameway,healsowhogotthetwogained
anothertwo.25.18Buthewhoreceivedtheonetalentwentawayanddugintheearth,andhidhislord’smoney.
25.19“Nowafteralongtimethelordofthoseservantscame,andreconciledaccountswiththem.25.20Hewhoreceivedthefivetalentscame
andbroughtanotherfivetalents,saying,‘Lord,youdeliveredtomefivetalents.Behold,Ihavegainedanotherfivetalentsbesidesthem.’
25.21“Hislordsaidtohim,‘Welldone,goodandfaithfulservant.Youhavebeenfaithfuloverafewthings,Iwillsetyouovermanythings.
Enterintothejoyofyourlord.’
25.22“Healsowhogotthetwotalentscameandsaid,‘Lord,youdeliveredtometwotalents.Behold,Ihavegainedanothertwotalents
besidesthem.’
25.23“Hislordsaidtohim,‘Welldone,goodandfaithfulservant.Youhavebeenfaithfuloverafewthings,Iwillsetyouovermanythings.

25.24“Healsowhohadreceivedtheonetalentcameandsaid,‘Lord,Iknewyouthatyouareahardman,reapingwhereyoudidnotsow,
andgatheringwhereyoudidnotscatter.25.25Iwasafraid,andwentawayandhidyourtalentintheearth.Behold,youhavewhat
isyours.’
25.26“Buthislordansweredhim,‘Youwickedandslothfulservant.YouknewthatIreapwhereIdidn’tsow,andgatherwhereIdidn’t
scatter.25.27Yououghtthereforetohavedepositedmymoneywiththebankers,andatmycomingIshouldhavereceivedbackmyown
withinterest.25.28Takeawaythereforethetalentfromhim,andgiveittohimwhohasthetentalents.25.29Fortoeveryonewhohaswill
begiven,andhewillhaveabundance,butfromhimwhodoesn’thave,eventhatwhichhehaswillbetakenaway.25.30Throwoutthe
unprofitableservantintotheouterdarkness,wheretherewillbeweepingandgnashingofteeth.’
25.31“ButwhentheSonofMancomesinhisglory,andalltheholyangelswithhim,thenhewillsitonthethroneofhisglory.25.32Before
himallthenationswillbegathered,andhewillseparatethemonefromanother,asashepherdseparatesthesheepfromthegoats.25.33
Hewillsetthesheeponhisrighthand,butthegoatsontheleft.25.34ThentheKingwilltellthoseonhisrighthand,‘Come,blessed
ofmyFather,inherittheKingdompreparedforyoufromthefoundationoftheworld;25.35forIwashungry,andyougavemefoodtoeat.
Iwasthirsty,andyougavemedrink.Iwasastranger,andyoutookmein.25.36Iwasnaked,andyouclothedme.Iwassick,andyou
visitedme.Iwasinprison,andyoucametome.’
25.37“Thentherighteouswillanswerhim,saying,‘Lord,whendidweseeyouhungry,andfeedyou;orthirsty,andgiveyouadrink?25.38
Whendidweseeyouasastranger,andtakeyouin;ornaked,andclotheyou?25.39Whendidweseeyousick,orinprison,andcome
toyou?’
25.40“TheKingwillanswerthem,‘MostcertainlyItellyou,becauseyoudidittooneoftheleastofthesemybrothers[*],youdidittome.’
25.41Thenhewillsayalsotothoseonthelefthand,‘Departfromme,youcursed,intotheeternalfirewhichispreparedforthedeviland
hisangels;25.42forIwashungry,andyoudidn’tgivemefoodtoeat;Iwasthirsty,andyougavemenodrink;25.43Iwasastranger,andyou
didn’ttakemein;naked,andyoudidn’tclotheme;sick,andinprison,andyoudidn’tvisitme.’
25.44“Thentheywillalsoanswer,saying,‘Lord,whendidweseeyouhungry,orthirsty,orastranger,ornaked,orsick,orinprison,and
didn’thelpyou?’
25.45“Thenhewillanswerthem,saying,‘MostcertainlyItellyou,becauseyoudidn’tdoittooneoftheleastofthese,youdidn’t
doittome.’25.46Thesewillgoawayintoeternalpunishment,buttherighteousintoeternallife.”

26.1WhenJesushadfinishedallthesewords,hesaidtohisdisciples,26.2“YouknowthataftertwodaysthePassoveriscoming,andtheSon
ofManwillbedelivereduptobecrucified.”
26.3Thenthechiefpriests,thescribes,andtheeldersofthepeopleweregatheredtogetherinthecourtofthehighpriest,whowascalled
Caiaphas.26.4TheytookcounseltogetherthattheymighttakeJesusbydeceit,andkillhim.26.5Buttheysaid,“Notduringthefeast,lest
ariotoccuramongthepeople.”
26.6NowwhenJesuswasinBethany,inthehouseofSimontheleper,26.7awomancametohimhavinganalabasterjarofveryexpensive
ointment,andshepoureditonhisheadashesatatthetable.26.8Butwhenhisdisciplessawthis,theywereindignant,saying,“Whythis
waste?26.9Forthisointmentmighthavebeensoldformuch,andgiventothepoor.”
26.10However,knowingthis,Jesussaidtothem,“Whydoyoutroublethewoman?Becauseshehasdoneagoodworkforme.26.11Foryou
alwayshavethepoorwithyou;butyoudon’talwayshaveme.26.12Forinpouringthisointmentonmybody,shedidittopreparemefor
burial.26.13MostcertainlyItellyou,whereverthisGoodNewsispreachedinthewholeworld,whatthiswomanhasdonewillalso
