Whenitcomestoexpressingemotions,utheEnglishﬁndadisplayofemo-

tiondisconcerting”(MiallandMilsted2011:11).Diniejko(2008:61)mentions

CharlesDickenswho,inhisopinion,isverymuchconcernedwiththerepresen-

tationofanEnglishman.HewritesthatuDickens’constructionsofEnglishness
