Safetyorsecurity?Safetyisassociatedwithdefiningasenseofse-
curity,meaning,conditions,andsurroundingsthatmakeanindividual
oragroupfeelsafe.Inaddition,itiscommontousethetermsafetywith
simultaneousreferencetospecificspheres/sectors,e.g.,internationalsafe-
ty,publicsafety,oroccupationalhealthandsafety(Misiuketal.,2021).
Security,ontheotherhand,referstosuchsolutions—mainlylegaland
organizational—andprojects(securitycompanies,monitoring),whose
aimistostrengthenorevenintroduceasenseofsecurity.Whatshould
beemphasizedisthenoticeablycloserelationshipbetweenthetwocon-
cepts.Puttogether,safetyandsecurityemphasizethecomplementarity
ofhumanactivitiesinthecontextofensuringthesafetyofpeople,prop-
erty,andspacethatsurroundsthem,orwhichhasbeenassessedaspar-
ticularlyimportant,i.e.,requiringtheinvolvementofhumanforcesand,
morebroadly,technicalachievementsofcivilization(Misiuketal.,2021,
pp.27-28).Tecomplementarycombinationoftheconceptsofsafety
andsecurityisspreadingmoreandmorewidelyinthescientificlitera-
ture,whichisbestseeninthefieldofoccupationalhealthandsafetyre-
searchorriskanalysisinenterprises.
EtymologicallyinLatin,thetermsecurity(Lat.securitas)meanssome-
thingthatdoesnotrequire(Lat.sine—without)care,attention,super-
