TheSwarzędzelectorsmadetheirpamasimtakeavowthatthey

wouldexemptneitherthemselvesnortheirrelativesfromtaxes.They

wereforbiddentouseanyofthegoodstheyhadintheirownstoresto

satisfycommunityneeds,andshouldtheydoit,theywouldnotbe

allowedtochargeforthem.Thisbanwasliftedlateronandanentry

wasmadethatshouldapamasprovidethecommunitywithanygoods

tofromhisownstore,thenhewouldhavetochecktheirsizeand

weightcarefullyandtosellthematthepricetheyweresoldtoothers.

Pamasimandotherkahalmemberswereprohibitedfrombuyingsalt

andﬂaxdeliveredbythetown’sowner;theyweretoinform

communitymembersabouttheirsaleatthesynagoguetwoorthree

timesandsellthoseproductstootherpeople.Pamasimwerealso
