Introduction

informationontheformatofthedescriptionoftheaforementionedtypesof
borrowingsisalsoprovided;inaddition,thetypesofconstructionsexcluded
fromthepresentanalysisareenumeratedindetail.Theorganizationofthemain
partofthechapterisasfollows:First,single-wordloantranslationsarepresented,
followedbythemulti-wordcalquesthatappearwithoutasimultaneoussemantic
loan.Finally,thelargestportionofthechapterisdevotedtothediscussionof
semanticloans,withaccompanyingmulti-wordcalques(ifpresent).
Thefifthchapterpresentstheconclusionsofthestudy.Themajorityofthe
chapterisdevotedtostatisticalanalysisconcerningtheborrowingsfoundin
thecorpus.
Therearealsothreeappendices;thefirstappendixcontainsdetailed
informationonthestructureofthepresentcorpus,thesecondonecontains
examplesofsemanticloans,loantranslations,andloanrenditionsfoundtherein;
finally,thethirdonepresentssemanticloansfoundinthecorpustogetherwith
theirpossibleEnglishmodelsandreferencestopagenumbers.
