thatalthoughtheworkingversionofthebookwascompletedaslongasthreeyearsago,
thepublicationhasbecomepossibleonlynow.
Thebookcomprisesfourparts.Thefirst,introductoryoneincludestwochapters
devotedtothetheoreticalgroundsoftheresearchofsexuality.Thetwochaptershavebeen
limited,however,tothecrucialissuesonlywhich-tomymind-correspondbesttothe
contentsoftheremainingpartsofthebook.ChapterOnepresentsvarious,mostimportant
issuesreferringtohumansexuality.ChapterTwoincludesacomprehensivedescriptionof
thespecificityofthesexualityresearchmethodswhichoftenrefertothemethodological
solutionsassumedfortheresearchdepictedhereto.ThisChapteroffersalsoareviewof
theremarkablesexualityresearchaccomplishedinPolandthusfar.
Parttwo,asitstitlesuggests,dealswiththediagnosisofhumansexualitywithin
thelifecycle.Chaptersofthispartpresentthefindingsofsurveysofsexualityofyouth,
adultsandelderlypeopleof50andmore.
FivechaptersofPartThreedescribespecificissuesandtheimageofsexualityof
selectedcategoriesofpeople.Owingtothis,thediagnosisofsexualityofPoleswassup-
plementedwithsuchissuesassexualityofhomosexualpeople,theuseoftheinternetfor
purposesrelatedtosexuality,sexualityintheeraofHIV/AIDS,prostitutionandsexual
abuse(theissuesofprostitutionandchildrenpornographyarealsodepictedinthischapter).
PartFourisasummaryofthebook.InChapterEleven,onthegroundsofaspecific
statisticalanalysisofthefindingsforadultpeopleaged18-49,variousattitudestoward
sex(towardthepartnerandsexualactivity)arepresentedaswellasthefactorstodiffer-
entiatethelevelofsatisfactionwithsexualcontactsandtheimageofsexualityofpeople
inmarriage,varioustypesofinformalrelationshipsandthosewholivewithoutaregular
sexualpartner.Myimpressionisthatthisverypartofthepublicationintroducesmany
newelementsofanattempttounderstandhowcomplexaconstructhumansexualityis.
Thenextchapterofthebooksummarizestheissuesdescribedthereininacompletely
differentmanner.ThatisbecauseIamshowingtherehowgreatarePoles’expectations
fromthebodieswhichorganizeandimplementschoolsexualeducationandhowdeficient
anddistantfromtheexpectationsistheshapeoftheeducationincontemporaryschool.
ChapterThirteen,thelastonewaswritteninthecourseofadvancededitorialproc-
ess.Asinthefallof2011,followingarduousattemptstoobtainthefunds,Isucceeded
incompletingtheresearchonsexualityofPolesaged15-49,Idecidedtopublishthe
crucialfindingsoftheresearchattheendofthisvolume.Ibelievethatowingtothis,the
bookhasbecomemoretopicalandtheimageofsexualityofPolesoftheyear2011is
aspecificepilogofthebook.
Ihopethisformulaofthepublicationwillarouseinterestofalargegroupofread-
ers’.Itseemsthatnotonlymaytherepresentativesofvariousareasofscienceusethe
bookbutalsostudentsand,inparticular,studentsofeducation,psychology,sociology,
law,journalism,scienceoffamilyandmedicine.Iwouldbeextremelysatisfiedifthe
