thatalthoughtheworkingversionofthebookwascompletedaslongasthreeyearsago,
thepublicationhasbecomepossibleonlynow.
Thebookcomprisesfourparts.Therst,introductoryoneincludestwochapters
devotedtothetheoreticalgroundsoftheresearchofsexuality.Thetwochaptershavebeen
limited,however,tothecrucialissuesonlywhich-tomymind-correspondbesttothe
contentsoftheremainingpartsofthebook.ChapterOnepresentsvarious,mostimportant
issuesreferringtohumansexuality.ChapterTwoincludesacomprehensivedescriptionof
thespecicityofthesexualityresearchmethodswhichoftenrefertothemethodological
solutionsassumedfortheresearchdepictedhereto.ThisChapteroffersalsoareviewof
theremarkablesexualityresearchaccomplishedinPolandthusfar.
Parttwo,asitstitlesuggests,dealswiththediagnosisofhumansexualitywithin
thelifecycle.Chaptersofthispartpresentthendingsofsurveysofsexualityofyouth,
adultsandelderlypeopleof50andmore.
FivechaptersofPartThreedescribespecicissuesandtheimageofsexualityof
selectedcategoriesofpeople.Owingtothis,thediagnosisofsexualityofPoleswassup-
plementedwithsuchissuesassexualityofhomosexualpeople,theuseoftheinternetfor
purposesrelatedtosexuality,sexualityintheeraofHIV/AIDS,prostitutionandsexual
abuse(theissuesofprostitutionandchildrenpornographyarealsodepictedinthischapter).
PartFourisasummaryofthebook.InChapterEleven,onthegroundsofaspecic
statisticalanalysisofthendingsforadultpeopleaged18-49,variousattitudestoward
sex(towardthepartnerandsexualactivity)arepresentedaswellasthefactorstodiffer-
entiatethelevelofsatisfactionwithsexualcontactsandtheimageofsexualityofpeople
inmarriage,varioustypesofinformalrelationshipsandthosewholivewithoutaregular
sexualpartner.Myimpressionisthatthisverypartofthepublicationintroducesmany
newelementsofanattempttounderstandhowcomplexaconstructhumansexualityis.
Thenextchapterofthebooksummarizestheissuesdescribedthereininacompletely
differentmanner.ThatisbecauseIamshowingtherehowgreatarePoles’expectations
fromthebodieswhichorganizeandimplementschoolsexualeducationandhowdecient
anddistantfromtheexpectationsistheshapeoftheeducationincontemporaryschool.
ChapterThirteen,thelastonewaswritteninthecourseofadvancededitorialproc-
ess.Asinthefallof2011,followingarduousattemptstoobtainthefunds,Isucceeded
incompletingtheresearchonsexualityofPolesaged15-49,Idecidedtopublishthe
crucialndingsoftheresearchattheendofthisvolume.Ibelievethatowingtothis,the
bookhasbecomemoretopicalandtheimageofsexualityofPolesoftheyear2011is
aspecicepilogofthebook.
Ihopethisformulaofthepublicationwillarouseinterestofalargegroupofread-
ers’.Itseemsthatnotonlymaytherepresentativesofvariousareasofscienceusethe
bookbutalsostudentsand,inparticular,studentsofeducation,psychology,sociology,
law,journalism,scienceoffamilyandmedicine.Iwouldbeextremelysatisedifthe
