Introduction
Theproductionandprocessingoffood,creationofthemeansofproductionforagri-
cultureandfoodindustry,aswellasrelatedservicesinotherwords,theentiretyof
agribusinesshavetheirown,distinctspecificity.Unfortunately,fromtheviewpointof
aproducerorafinancier,adisadvantageousone.Agribusinesstendstobeadifficulten-
deavor,muchmoresothanotherbusinessesduetoinherent,natural(inthemostliteral
meaningofthisword)factors,leadingtohighexpenditures(includingcosts),longpro-
ductioncycles,longpaybackperiodsandvariousrisksnotpresentinanyotherbusiness
activity.Therefore,thetopicofagribusinessfinanceisverycomplexandmuchwider
than,say,thefinancesofabusinessproducingindustrialgoods,suchasconsumerelec-
tronics,homeappliancesorfootwear.
Fromafinancialviewpoint,agribusinessisdistinguishedby,amongothers,falling
employmentlevelsandtheneedtofinancenumerousnew,increasinglycomplexfixed
assets.Theseare,ofcourse,becomingincreasinglyexpensive.Thisisduetotechnical
andtechnologicalprogress,whichinturnformsapreconditionforincreasingtheval-
ueofcommodityproduction,bothoverallandperemployee.Therefore,employment
infrastructurecostsareincreasingalongwiththepassageoftimeandprogress.From
afinancialviewpoint,thisprocessiscloselylinkedtoanotherdisadvantageoustraitof
agriculturalproduction,namelytherelativelylongproductioncycle.Therefore,there-
turnoncapitalinvestedinagriculturalfixedassetssimplycannotbecompetitivetoother
typesofproduction,duetotheaforementionedorganicandnaturalcharacterofsaid
capital.Thisnecessitatesanappropriateagriculturalpolicyaimingtopreventhungerin
agivenstateandtoreducedependenceonothercountries.Thus,thefinancialcondi-
tionsaremakingitmuchhardertocreatenewagriculturalholdingsfromscratchthanto
maintainandmodernizepre-existingones.
Thefinancialvalueofagriculturallandisakeyaspectofthistopic.Giventhiscon-
text,itbearsmentioningthatinagriculturelandisnotmerelytheplacewherethework
isbeingconducted,butalsoameansofproductiononitsown.Moreover,itisalsothe
