employmentinthefoodindustryandindustriesmanufacturingmeansofproduc-

tionforagribusiness.Whileintermsoffixedresources,agricultureisalmostequal

tothesetwoothercomponentsofPoland’sagribusiness.Agriculture’sdominancein

thesetwobasicfactorsofproductiondoesnotresultinhigheconomicresults.With-

outadoubt,foodindustryisbestoffintheseaspects.Agriculture,whileusingup

largeamountsofproductionfactors,isreachingrelativelyloweconomicresults.It

alsoholdsarelativelysmallshareoftotalinvestmentexpendituresinagribusiness.

Allofthiscausesitsroleinthenationaleconomytoshrink.Thisrelativereduction

appliestoboththemeansofproduction,andeconomicandfinancialresults.Thelarg-

estrelativedeclineofagribusinessintheeconomyisobservedonthesideoflaborre-

sources,whichdecreasedbyover1.5millionpeopleintheyears2000-2015.Thelabor

resourceslocatedinagribusinesshaverelativelydecreasedbyover10%,from32.2%

in2000to21.7%in2015.

Intermsofavailablefixedassets,theirabsolutevaluegrewfrom194.0bnin2000to

294.9bnin2015.However,whencomparedtotheoverallnationaleconomy,thismarks

adecreasefrom13.4%to8.7%.Asimilaroccurrencehastakenplaceincaseofinvest-

mentexpenditures.Inabsoluteterms,theyhaveincreased–from10.3bnPLNin2000

to18.7bnPLNin2015.Yetinrelativeterms,theirshareinthenationaleconomyhas

decreasedslightly,from7.7%in2000to7.5%in2015.

Intermsofgrossproductioninabsoluteterms,wecannoticeitdoubling,fromal-

most190bnPLNin2000toover380bnPLNin2015.Despitethisabsolutegrowth,

agribusinessoutputhasdeclinedagainstthenationaleconomyasawholeinthestud-

iedyears,from13%in2000to10.8%in2015.Asimilarsituationoccurswiththe

grossaddedvalue.Inabsoluteterms,itnearlydoubled–from56.3bnPLNin2000

to107.2bnPLNin2015.Yetdespitethisabsolutegrowth,itsshareintheoverall

nationaleconomydeclinedfrom8.5%in2000to6.6%in2015.
