relationsbetweenstates,betweenstatesandotheractors,aswellasbetweenotherac-

torsofinternationallaw,itmustberecognisedthatitdiffersfromother,conventionally

separatedbranchesoflaw.

Asregardsrelationsbetweenlabourlawandinternationallaw,referenceshouldbe

madetotheimpactoftheinternationallawonthedomesticlabourlaworder.Accord-

ingtoArticle87(1)oftheConstitutionoftheRepublicofPoland,aninternational

agreementshallbeoneofsourcesofgenerallyapplicablelaw,andaccordingtoArti-

cle91oftheConstitution,aratifiedinternationalagreement,afteritspromulgation

intheJournalofLawsoftheRepublicofPoland,shallconstituteapartofdomesticle-

galorderandshallbeapplieddirectly,unlessitsapplicationisdependentonenactment

ofanact.

ItisalsonecessarytorefertothestandardsadoptedwithintheUnitedNationssystem,

andinparticulartotheactivityoftheInternationalLabourOrganisation.

Inthecontextofinterlinksbetweenlabourlawandexternallaws,seenalsointerms

ofanimpactofthatlawonthePolishlabourlawsystem,alsoEuropeanlawsandlabour

lawsoftheCouncilofEuropeshouldbetakenintoaccount.
